Thomas Hardy (1840 - 1928) was an English
novelist and poet of the naturalist movement.

Gabriel Oak was a young farmer. He was in love,
but Bathsheba rejected his offer of marriage.

Gabriel sold a farm, because his sheep died. He
began to work on the Bathshebas farm. She was
rich, because she inherited her uncles farm.

The farmer William Boldwood asked Bathsheba to
marry him, but she refused as she was in love
with a Sergeant Troy.

Bathsheba married Troy, but he loved poor Fanny
and when she died he went away. Everyone thought
he was dead.

After the year, Troy returned to Bathsheba, but
Boldwood shot him.

Boldwood was sent to prison for life.

Gabriel Oak converged with Batsheba and they
married.

• In this book, I liked the relationship of
  Gabriel Oak and Bathsheba.
• I didnt like the big tragedy of Fanny who died
  with her baby and I did not like the story of
  the farmer Boldwood who killed a man for love
  and was imprisoned.
• If I were Batsheba, I wouldnt marry Troy,
  because he wasnt a good man.
