• Revolving Objects

Firstly you must draw a CENTER LINE. This is
achieved by using the LINE TOOL and the CENTER
LINE ICON.
This center line will for the AXIS of ROTATION
for the revolve

Using your drawing tools, draw the shape that you
wish to revolve. This should be drawn next to or
on the center line.

Once the sketch is complete click on RETURN to
bring up the features menu. Use the REVOLVE tool
to give you the pop up revolve menu.
Depending on the detail of your drawing, inventor
will often pick up the PROFILE you wish to
revolve. It will then ask you to select the AXIS
OF ROTATION. This is your center Line. Inventor
will then give you a preview of the shape as it
will look.

The finished revolve will be exactly as per your
sketch and the preview shown. If you left a GAP
between the sketch and center line you will have
a HOLE through your product (as below)
