Introduction to conference theme

• CR has 80 years experience in
• public retirement system
• Based on Bismarck scheme
• After 1990 we set up voluntary system of private
  pension provision
• Due to ageing population all of Europe has to
  face up to the challenge of reforms
• CR seems to be the last country in CE Europe
  without systemic pension reform can we afford
  it?
