2Introduction
- Needs of
- Building new assistance and strategies for the
improvement in both integration and adaptation - Adding multicultural facts in all fields as to
become aware of it to train the new generations
towards social equality.
3Wordings context influence of the arithmetic
problems
- Pupils reply better when the context is known and
familiar to them. - Previous knowledge and experience of the just
arrived students are much further away than what
we expect from local students. Contents are
usually quite different from real world and so,
interaction with the teachers is often different
from that they may have with their closer adults. - The operational rule in the class is much more
different between local students and the just
arrived ones. As an example, they would not dare
to ask, not even for a word they have
misunderstood.

- GIRLS REMARKS
- To have a good job in which to be respected
- Contable to help the family with the economical
situation. - To be able to manage by my selves
- To be a good daughter
- To be both a good mother and close friend, at the
same time as being a dental surgeon.
7Conclusions
- We can not talk about the universality of the
mathematical education and ignore the context
aspects in which it takes place as well as the
variety among people who teach and receive it. - Get to understand the language is a must in order
to be able to solve a problem, but there are many
other difficulties for the immigrant students to
get fully integrated in the national schools of
the country of arrival, more specifically, in the
mathematics classes. - In most countries where immigrant pupils are,
there are more differences between girls and
boys education and their future expectative.
