Description of work WP leader IDEAS Task 4.1
Combining Russian research needs with FP7 ENV
(IDEAS) This task follows the activities of WP2,
where relevant researchers and multipliers in
Russia, and main research needs are identified
(Tasks 2.1 and 2.2). Regarding the four main
areas of FP7 Environment research programme (i.e.
Climate Change, Pollution, Risks Sustainable
Management Of Resources Environmental
Technologies Earth Observation and Measurement
Tools for Sustainable Development), the different
needs identified in WP2 by Russian parties will
be match with the suitable areas of FP7 and
related projects, providing a database of
activities and possible collaborations sources to
be shared among participants and external
parties. The project portal will host this
database, providing also continuous monitoring on
new published calls. Task 4.2 Workshops to
identify common research issues (SUTR) In
addition to the research needs identified and
classified in Task 4.1, four workshops will be
organized during the project development in order
to discuss jointly, among the interested parties
from Russia and from European countries, topics
of research that can be further developed within
the FP7 Environment research programme. To this
end, the workshops will have subjects related to
all the four main activities of the Environment
(including climate change) Work Programme
(Climate Change, Pollution, Risks Sustainable
Management of Resources Environmental
Technologies Earth Observation and Measurement
Tools for Sustainable Development). During the
events, interests, missing information, possible
collaboration means will be identified. Task 4.3
Participation at international events (APRE) The
participation at brokerage events is a crucial
task for enhancing the participation of Russia in
FP7. Therefore, the organisation of brokerage
events (one real brokerage and several virtual
events) is foreseen. The real brokerage event
will be combined with a suitable conference or
with one Brokerage Event organized by
ENV-NCP-TOGETHER. The virtual brokerages will be
performed via the E-URAL website. They will be an
easier instrument for networking activities,
considering the fact that they are less expensive
for researchers, and it is not necessary to find
a suitable conference.
