  • Prepares students to work in a bilingual
    (Spanish/English) office setting in an entry
    level position.
  • Emphasis on developing skills in business
    English, keyboarding, word processing (Microsoft
    Office Suite), filing and office procedures.
  • Students will complete work experience
    internships while enrolled in this course by also
    enrolling in Bus 290-Cooperative Work Experience.

Tutoring
  • Hire ESL tutors for ESL students enrolled in
    career technical programs but not in ESL.
  • Find ESL tutors who are enrolled in Linguistics
    graduate programs

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT
  • Refine the VESL courses taught
  • Refer students to relevant, accessible programs
    OPT, and others on-campus.
  • Seek funding to research the language levels
    needed for success in regional training programs
    and jobs
