• a human unity exalting man Gen. 11. 4
• a unity of the Spirit exalting God Acts 4. 32
• We are born of the Spirit into a spiritual
  family the Body of Christ, the Church

It is likeprecious oil

• Precious oil the sacred anointing oil with
  which prophets, priests and kings were
  consecrated for service.
• Oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit
• We are anointed by the Spirit to walk in unity
  with other believers

It is likethe dew of Hermon

• the dew of Hermon an abundant dew, like heavy
  rain, replenishing and restoring parched ground
• A symbol of refreshment, renewal and the
  life-giving Word of God
• We are refreshed by the Spirit as we live in
  unity

For there the Lord bestows his blessing

• The oil and the dew - unity is not something we
  work up but that God sends down
• The God who blesses it is in Gods character and
  nature to do good things for people
• To Abram (Gen. 12) I will make you into a great
  nation and I will bless youand all peoples on
  earth will be blessed through you.
• Unity in the Church brings Gods blessing and
  favour
