Aim

• To design and deliver a training program for a
  small group of people who will serve as resources
  and act as facilitators for the development of
  day care services in the non-governmental sector
  in Hungary

• To develop a curriculum for management training
  for nonprofit leaders in the day care field
• To collect a wealth of integrated specific
  information and knowledge
• Child care, nonprofit, and business
• To develop a model to be disseminated
• To set up nonprofit programs

• Managers (directors, deputy directors) of child
  care centers
• People who were interested in offering child care
  either as private providers or community groups

Structure of the program

• Phase 1 training course
• 3 one-week sessions over 10 months
• Projects to develop and work on with the help of
  a consultant, between the sessions
• Expert trainers
• Phase 2 field work
• Assistance to private individuals, communities,
  and local authorities to set up nonprofit programs

Impact / long term results

• The introductory course for family day care
  providers was developed later, using the
  knowledge gained during this management training.
• The members of the nonprofit association have
  been active in consulting and delivering training
  for prospective family day care providers
