Biofuels

• Biodiesel is a fuel made from vegetable oil
  (including used cooking oil) or animal fat
• Bioethanol is made from wheat and sugar beet or
  cane

Why use biofuels?

• They are not the cheapest way to reduce
  greenhouse gas emissions
• but they are one of the few ways to reduce
  greenhouse gas emissions where the trends are
  worst - in transport
• and to tackle dependence on imported oil where
  it is highest
