Before Inspection 1Documentation.
  • As a Governor, I would advise you to familiarise
    yourself with these
  • Using the Evaluation Schedule
  • Introducing the new Panda report
  • Every Child Matters the new relationship
  • The Self Evaluation Form (SEF)

Before Inspection 2What should you do?
  • Make your support for the school and the staff
    clear
  • Check the school has a SEF and a process of
    completion has been undertaken (mini SEFS for
    governors/staff/departments)
  • Make sure you have read the SEF
  • Be aware of your position in relation to the
    school. You should not be asked questions you
    cannot answer!
  • Use the SEF process for your own and the schools
    benefit
  • Our advice do not make this the first time any
    evaluation has taken place

During Inspection 1
  • Keep well away if possible the staff have enough
    to do!
  • If needed on a formal basis for interview
  • Be briefed read the SEF and ask if not sure.
  • How do I know? keep this in mind at all times
  • triangulation you say it, they check it out
  • Be aware of your role in relation to the school
    and what is delegated
  • Be supportive and use positive reinforcement at
    all times. This is not the time to voice concerns
    about your school

  • Make them an offer they cant refuse
  • what else to you need to see to evidence our
    claims?
  • Pair governors for interviews
  • Do a role play for the interviews.

  • Be involved in reading it 10 pair of eyes better
    than one! Set a possible date for this
  • Make detailed observations, correct typographical
    errors. It shows interest!

    agenda. Get rid of obstacles
