Chapter 1

• Henry Forester, only 19 years old, is the
  youngest pilot in his Air Force squadron. He and
  his squadron are getting ready for a war.

Chapter 2

• Henry, Dan, Billy, and the rest of the squadron
  were getting ready for the war. They had
  breakfast and did exercises and practiced taking
  off with the planes.

Chapter 3

• He was thinking about his best friend, Pasty, who
  he grew up with. They were also neighbors. He had
  thought about what she would be doing that
  morning when he was getting ready to go to war.

Chapter 4

• Henry and his crew were up in the air bombing
  against another country. Henry had to take his
  parachute and fall from the sky.His parachute was
  shot down. He landed on his leg and did not know
  if it was sprained or broken.

Chapter 5

• When Henry landed from the sky, he started
  walking and did not know if he was in
  Switzerland, France, or Germany. Then a person
  came along on a bike and told Henry to get on. He
  was taking him somewhere, but Henry did not know
  where.

Chapters 6, 7, and 8

• Henry was taken to an old school where the
  teacher took care of him. Then they took him a
  few miles away and he was on a ship. Two nurses
  came and checked him out to make sure he wasnt
  severely injured.

Chapters 9, 10, and 11

• After Henry was feeling a little better, he was
  sitting on a bench and a girl came up with a
  small dog in her hand and said that she was his
  cousin. She asked him if he wanted to get back
  home and he said he would really like to get back
  home because he missed his family after being in
  France for a long time.

10, and 11.

• He drove her across the lake. They got into a
  hotel and stayed there for about a week. Madame
  left him and he was by a bunch of German people.
  They gave him a bike and they told him to ride to
  a destination.

10, and 11

• He found a church. He thought maybe he could get
  inside so he could warm up and rest for a while.
  He tried the door. It was locked. He thought how
  could anybody lock the church door. At his
  church, down the road from where he lived, the
  church door was always unlocked.
