Third Grade Parent Meeting

Planners

• I check them everyday to make sure homework is
  written in them correctly and sign it.
• Parents need to check the homework every night
  and then sign the planner.
• Do not sign the planner unless the homework is
  finished. This will prevent getting any academic
  alerts.
• Please do not sign planners for the whole week on
  Monday.

Homework Policy

• Homework will be given most days.
• If homework is not complete or is missing an
  academic alert will be given.
• Three academic alerts in one grading period will
  result in a detention.

Grading Periods

• 1st Semester
• Reading, Math, Language, Spelling receive A, B,
  C, D, F letter grades
• Science, Social Studies, and Health receive O, S,
  N, U grades

2nd Semester Letter grades in all areas

Reading

• Reading is taught with Mrs. Coppus and Mrs.
  Sarver as team-teachers.
• Mrs. Sarver comes in everyday for 45 minutes.

Reading and Math Achievement Tests

• Ohio Third Grade Reading Achievement Test will be
  taken in the fall and in the spring.
• Ohio Third Grade Math Achievement Test will be
  given in the spring.
• We prepare for these tests all year long.

Correct and Return Papers

• Sometimes I give assignments back to students to
  correct and return.
• Partial credit will be given if the assignment is
  returned by the date shown.

Tutors

• Mrs. King and Mrs. Barbara Coppus come in for
  tutoring on Tuesdays.

Bus Policy

• If students are not riding the bus home, I need a
  signed note by the parent telling this.
• If there is no note then the student will be
  placed on the bus.

Lunch Policy

• If a student owes money for more than 2 days they
  will not get a lunch.
