5The Three Stories Of Evangelism
6The Big Story
7The particular to the universal
- One place to every place
- One person/people to many
- One time into an ever new future
8 The power of the gospel lies in the powerful
announcement that God is God, Jesus is Lord,
that the powers of evil have been defeated, that
Gods new world has begun. Tom Wright
9These people who have been turning the world
upside down have come here also. Acts 17 6
1070 of all Christians have come to faith since
1900.
1940 1/32 world population were Christian
- 1/10 world population
- were Christian
11We live in a culture so saturated with self, in
which humans have placed themselves in the
centre for so long, that our natural tendency
,even as Christians ,is to focus on the human
aspects of evangelism and not the divine. Yet
it is God who takes the initiative to pursue
seekers, it is his Spirit who converts, it is
his gospel that saves. Evangelism is Gods
business from start to finish. Rebecca Manley
Pippert
12It is not the church of God which has a mission
but the God of mission who has a church

14How does the church become the evangelising
centre it was meant to be? Before we think of
programmes or techniques, we need to be
renewed in our vision of who Christ is and what
Gods purposes are for the world.
Rebecca Manley
Pippert.

but weak people in the hands of a great God.
22Our story as communities
23My prayer is not for these only but also for
those who will believe in me through their word,
that they may all may be one, just as you,
Father, are in me and I in you, that they also
may be in us so that the world may believe that
you have sent me. The glory that you have given
me, I have given to them, that they may be one
even as we are one. I in them and you in me,
that they become perfectly one so that the
world may know that you sent me and loved them
even as you have loved me. John 1720-23
24The responsive story
