- 2009 - An expected slowdown in the economic
activity in Bulgaria - Real GDP growth is projected to decrease to
around 2 - Investment growth should slow sharply to around 2
this year and 3 next - Growth of both exports and imports is set to
decelerate markedly - Current account deficit should thus fall below
20 of GDP - Employment growth is expected to decline
substantially

- 2009 - An expected slowdown in the economic
activity in Bulgaria - Inflation could decline to below 6
- The general government surplus is projected at
around 2 of GDP - Private consumption expenditure is projected to
decrease due to considerable deceleration in wage
and employment growth and more moderate credit
growth - The public debt level should continue to decline
to below 11 of GDP.

The gas crisis consequences Bulgaria was
the country affected the most by the gas crisis
as all its supplies come from Russia via a
pipeline crossing Ukraine and the country has no
access to alternative pipeline routes. Bulgaria's
chemical, metals and glass producers are facing
serious losses. The country's leading fertilizer
producers Neochim NEOH.BB and Agropolychim shut
down. Presently the calculated losses total 500
million levs (250 million euro).

Light in the tunnel But as whole Bulgaria is
one of the few countries in Europe with expected
growth of GDP in 2009 and no recession. Due the
common-sense financial and fiscal politic of the
Bulgarian government the state is in a stable
situation and no financial help form IMF will be
necessary. The country will survive the crises
with own resources.

- No clear defined trend in the turnover and the
sales incomes of the companies - The quantity of generated production by all of
the converters increases with different
percentages - from 4 up to 40 - The profit norm differs
- The number of orders become smaller both for the
domestic market, as for the other countries - The export rate diminishes by all companies.

time of financial crisis
- In the most of the companies the staff is cut
down by 10 17 . - The plastic converters also suffered by the gas
crisis the orders for bags for fertilizers were
canceled -
- The expectations of the producers for the first
six months of 2009 are negative - Many companies do not want to continue
participate in the process of funding by the EU,
because of the prolonged, efforts- and finance
wasting procedure with no clear results
13The separate waste collection - affected by the
economic crisis
- No new containers and less separate waste
collection in 2008 are the consequences of the
global economic crisis - Waste processing plants are accepting no waste as
they struggle to sell their production - Buy-out prices of materials decrease by 60-80 per
cent in Europe due to slowing consumer spending
