Why Security transport?

• To establish and implement a private
  transportation service, with the specific purpose
  of transporting call centre staff at regulated
  times.
• The benefit of ensuring a secure investment for
  both domestic and international call centre
  operators investing in the KZN region.

Terms of reference

• Reduction of staff attrition due to the
  availability of a sound transport infrastructure
• Add to the KZN value proposition as a key
  differentiator for the KZN region.
• Ensure the safety and security of call centre
  staff whilst in transit to and from the
  respective call centers.
• Ensure the development of the local transport
  industry by the capacitation of skills and
  resources from established transport consortiums
  by a collaborative approach with SMME transport
  organizations
• To formulate a body which will facilitate the
  process of implementation and management of the
  above service comprising of key stakeholders in
  the KZN Call centre/BPO sphere of influence, to
  ensure the quality and reliability of the
  service.

Strengths/opportunities

• 61 known call centers exist in the KZN/Ethekwini
  region with an estimated staff count of roughly
  6802 agents.
• The average spend per agent on transportation is
  estimated at R550 per month.
• It is estimated that the average call centre
  operation in the region carries roughly 128
  employees which, to date, are being recruited
  randomly from various geographic locations in the
  region.
• There is a requirement by both international and
  local call centre operators to operate 7 days a
  week, 365 days a year.
• There are various Call centre operations, which
  have already embarked on individual initiatives
  to accommodate this need, arising from their
  staff. There is therefore a niche to merge these
  efforts on a macro scale to incorporate the
  region.
