Located at Missouri University of Science and
Technology (formally UMR). Serve local agencies
(cities counties) throughout the
state. Provide training resources at little to
no cost.

- Directed by FHWA Office of Professional and
Corporate Development - 58 LTAP/TTAP Centers
- One in each state
- One in Puerto Rico
- Seven regional centers serving Tribal Councils of
Government - Deliver Quality Services to Local Transportation
Agencies

- LTAP's mission is to foster a surface
transportation system that is - Safe

- Environmentally Sound
- By improving the skills and increasing the
knowledge of the transportation workforce and
decision makers

Goal To enhance the skills of all personnel
involved in local agencies across the
state. Objective To provide development in
creating qualified local transportation public
works personnel who are trained in the basic
skills necessary for cost efficient delivery of
transportation public works services.

- Classes offered at least once every two years in
multiple locations across the state - Two separate professional levels Road Scholar I
Road Scholar II - Training conducted by instructors from LTAP,
MoDOT, Linn State Technical College, APWA and
other professional state organizations - Recognition certificates awarded at various
conferences throughout the state
