The first PC's School and how to integrate?

• The Teacher the Doctor yesterday and today
• Most Schools were using PCs primarily for
  administrative tasks (like attendance, grading,
  assessment) rather than for active teaching
• Access for Teachers and students was very limited
• Only specialists were doing training
• Content was primarily use of PC itself and
  programming of application
• The PC was not integrated in the education concept

How to integrate?

• Development of curricula's to integrate the PC
  into the daily school
• Most of this curriculas where based on the
  training how to use the PC it self and which
  basic applications are available and how to use
• Development of the first integrated e-didactic
  concepts and the requirement to develop
  applications to support the teacher and the
  learning process
• The necessity of the networked PC classroom as
  the center of E-didactic and IT based learning
  was defined

PC-networks entering the Schools!

• Different initiatives and projects were/ are
  launched to equip schools with networked PC Labs
• corporations and governmental intuitions created
  projects to support the integration of IT into
  the educational process in schools and help to
  deliver content and teacher and school focused
  applications
• One of the biggest challenges was to train
  teachers to integrate the PC into daily classes
  and how to create content designed for PC based
  education
• A very important task to solve was and is the
  management of the IT itself to have everything
  available and up and running
• Last but not least how to control and supervise
  student activities into PC based learning
  scenarios

Intel Teach to the Future Part 1 (Germany)

• A major milestone was reached by Intel
  Corporation (Nov. 2005) in its worldwide effort
  to help students and teachers develop 21st
  century learning skills. Three million teachers
  have now completed training through Intel Teach
  to the Future, a professional development program
  designed to help teachers effectively integrate
  technology with learning. Armed with strategies
  to develop digital literacy, creativity,
  higher-order thinking, communication and
  collaboration, these teachers are reaching tens
  of millions of students daily across the globe.

Intel Teach to the Future Part 1 (Germany)

• In Germany 300.000 teachers were trained within 3
  years. To reach this goal, the project uses the
  snowball system and multipliers will be
  educated.
• MasterSolution has developed jointly with the
  Academy of further education for Teachers in
  Dillingen/ Germany, a brochure which explains how
  a teacher can use his PC network in an efficient
  and pedagogically powerful way. The brochure is
  called Teaching in a computer lab and is based
  on one the software products MasterSolution is
  offering (Vision).

Teacher Roadshow, Germany

• Microsoft initiated Germany wide Roadshows
  specially addressed to teachers and schools and
  organized as a teach the teachers seminars
• In about 10 cities all over the country Microsoft
  offers its education program together with
  selected partners in different workshops and
  training sessions. Each event had between 300 to
  600 attendees.
• MasterSolution is one of the selected Microsoft
  education software partners and has been
  participating in these events for years.
• One of the targets is to offer together with
  Microsoft a software platform dedicated to the
  daily challenges of the work of teacher and to
  show scenarios how to use IT technology more
  efficient in the school environment.

  of the teacher has to change within the
  information society

Intel Teaching to the Future
(Part 2, Germany)

• The second phase of the Intel project provides to
  teachers new methods and skills to use IT in
  nearly all kind of classes/ lessons
• The project is based on a blended learning
  concept
• It provides to teachers ideas and learn paths
  to help them to integrate new technologies and
  medias into non IT classes
• Already 70.000 teachers in Germany joint the
  project
• MasterSolution is member of the partner team and
  provides the product Plan-It as part of the
  Intel Media package
• Based on Plan-It teachers create lessons and
  presentations and share the results with their
  colleagues on the Intel project platform in the
  world wide web
