Title: Gary Nichols 2

1
Gary Nichols 2
  • Jones County, Mississippi

2
Gary Nichols 2
  • Gary Nichols 2 well evaluated the Wash-Fred
reservoirs in a portion of the field where the
sands were trapped by both faults and anticlinal
closures in the graben area of the field.
  • There are five productive sands in the Wash-Fred
    stratigraphic interval.
  • Estimated cumulative production from this zone is
    2.5 MMBO, 318 MMCFG and 7.1 MMBW.

Gary Nichols 2
  • The Gary Nichols 2 well was programmed to test
Wash-Fred sands updip from previous producers in
    the garben
  • The Geiger-Cupp Unit 9-13 1 (550 W) produced
254,000 BO from two W-F sands
  • We expect to be about 50 structurally high to
    the Geiger-Cupp well

Gary Nichols 2
  • The Gruy Geiger 1 (300 SW) of the GN 2 well,
produced 96 MBO from the 9175 Wash-Fred sand.
  • We anticipated penetrating the WF structure 25
high to the Geiger 1 well.
  • Venture drilled the BOS 16-4 2 well located
about 1,500 SW of GN 2 and encountered 8
    separate Wash-Fred pay intervals.

5
Gary Nichols 2
  • We did not gain the structural advantage that we
were seeking at the WF targeted sands
  • Small faults that were not previously documented
    are present in the garben
  • Stratigraphic uncertainties are also prevalent
  • Interpretation of the newly reprocessed 3D
    seismic data is ongoing

SLIGO (Bailey Sands)
  • The Bailey Sand of the Sligo Formation was
encountered at 11568 feet. The Sligo sequence
includes the Bailey Sands and the 12,000 foot oil
sands. The Sligo Sands are typically fine
    grained, slightly calcareous and argillaceous.
    The Bailey Sand exhibits stratigraphic
variability as do the majority of the Cretaceous
sands in this field. It is evident however that
certain Sligo sands can drain a large area as
supported by data from production out of the
12000 feet sand. Cumulative production from the
Bailey sand in the field has been estimated at 18
    MBO.

RODESSA (11600 Ft. Sand)
  • The 11600 Rodessa sand interval was encountered
between 11260 and 11445 feet. The depositional
environment of the Rodessa Sands in this area
would be characterized as transgressive marine.
    This Rodessa sequence exhibits strong
    stratigraphic variability. Production was
initiated at the 11600 horizon in 1961.
Cumulative production from this interval is
    estimated to be 343 MBO.

Rodessa (11,400 Ft. Sand)
  • The 11400 Rodessa Sand was encountered at 11096
feet. This zone has been undergoing waterflood
operations since June 2004. The depositional
environment of the Rodessa sands in this area
would be characterized as transgressive marine.
The Rodessa Sands exhibit good overall continuity
through the field, however the sand lenses
present in the Rodessa show stratigraphic
variability. The Rodessa sands are fine to
coarse grained, calcareous, usually porous with
shale inclusions. Average porosity for this sand
ranges from 12 to 16 with API gravity around
    26. Cumulative production from the Rodessa
interval since 1959 is 2.2 MMBO, 570 MMCFG and
    1.1 MMBW.
