A theatre monologue

• Peer Gynt - With troll in heart is a theatre
  monologue based on Henrik Ibsen's, Peer Gynt.
• The Norwegian premiere was in June 2004 at the
  Ibsengården in Skien, were Henrik Ibsen lived
  when he was 14 years old.

Few requisites

• With simple means, she plays Peer Gynt, Solveig
  and all the other characters with few requisites.
  It has shown to be a very powerful, soulful and
  good way to get the story across.

PEER GYNT-With troll in heart

• The monologue focuses on the love story between
  Peer Gynt and Solveig. It also shows his
  relationship with his mother Åse, his old
  girlfriend Ingrid and The woman in green.

Peer, your lying...

• Peer is constantly lying to his mother, he flirts
  with the girls and is always in some kind of
  trouble. One evening he meets this girl, Solveig,
  she changes his life for ever. The same evening
  he goes too far with his drinking and womanizing.
  Every one is after him, and he fears for his
  life.

• Peer Gynt, ends up traveling around the world
  with Solveig on his mind for nearly 40 years. He
  visits all continents and meets many characters
  along the way. He live and love, win and lose.

A co-operation

• The production for USA is a co-operation with
  
  Norwegian-Amercan Foundation and Bøes
  Film and Theatre.
• We want to offer this production to the 900
  Norwegian American organizations and institutions
  at the annual US Norway Forum meeting in
  Washington D.C. on October 6th 2005.

• This as a part of a program Norwegian-Amercan
  Foundation wishes to offer next year, in the
  Henrik Ibsen year.
• In 2006, its 100 years since one of the greatest
  playwrights of the world died, and we want to
  mark this by sending PEER GYNT-With troll in
  heart on tour.

• We want to offer this production for one period
  of time next year. It can be played nearly in any
  space, stage and room, and is perfect for
  colleges and other culture venues.
• We will after this Forum send out a letter about
  the production, what time it will be in USA and
  what the cost will be to get a visit.

On tour in Norway

• It is an exiting and important way to communicate
  to an audience at any age about Ibsen. It gives
  them a unique opportunity to let them see a Peer
  Gynt monologue played by a woman. An honest
  interpretation of one of the worlds most famous
  dramatic pieces.

• The play has been on tour in Norway with over 60
  performances last autumn, and is now touring in
  Telemark to the end of November.

Henrik Ibsen

• This is a way for us to pay tribute to the most
  known playwright Norway have ever had, and one of
  the worlds most played and appreciated poets.

Bøes Film and Theatre

• Is a small theatre company run by Jeanne Bøe, and
  her partner Bernt S. Andersen. They hire the
  actors, musicians and directors needed to the
  different productions. The latest production was
  the historic play Maren Gulliksdatter in
  September, with the famous fiddler Knut Buen, and
  the great comedian from Dizzy Tunes, Tor Erik
  Gunstrøm, among 30 others.
