Embedding ICT across the Curriculum The Kent
Weather Watch Art and ICT Project

April 2008
2
Embedding ICT across the Curriculum The Kent
Weather Watch Art and ICT Project
Getting Started The project was an opportunity
for primary pupils in schools across the County
to take part in an on-line Art Activity with
Michele Gregson (ASK Art Advisory Teacher.) The
Task was to create 2 and 3-D Artworks that showed
what the weather feels like and not how it
appears. To successfully create their abstract
models and designs all the pupils were encouraged
to use a wide range of materials and tools.

Embedding ICT across the Curriculum The Kent
Weather watch Art and ICT Project
  • How can ICT enhance Teaching and Learning?
  • Gathering Information
  • To start the project the pupils viewed the video
published on the Weather Watch website of Michele
Gregson working with a group of Year 4 pupils at
    Oaktree Primary School, Ashford.
  • Presenting our Work
  • Following this the pupils were given three weeks
to complete the assignment and post digital
photographs or videos of their Art work on the
    Making the News web-site.
  • Reviewing our Learning
  • To review their work most then took part in a
FlashMeeting web conference with Michele. During
these sessions the pupils had the opportunity to
  • discuss their own and others Artwork
  • view the work of famous artists including J.M.W.
    Turner
