Why Light Touch
Currently, a full blown Corporate
Programme/Project Management Methodology (CPMM)
is available/in use on the Strategic Projects of
the Council.
In response to comments from Directorates
however, there was a need to provide a version of
this CPMM which is suitable for use on everyday
Projects but still provide the discipline
fundamentals of Project Management.
This is referred to as the Light Touch and is
the minimum level approach which should be
applied to any Project.
3
What is a Project?
Any activity undertaken to deliver specific
improvement or change to Business as Usual
4
Benefits of Light Touch Version
  • Allows a standard approach to Project
Management to be available for all Council
    Projects.
  • Should easily fit in or be compatible with any
current Project Management techniques in place
    within directorates
  • Designed to require the minimum amount of
    paperwork.
  • Conforms with recommendations from
Pricewaterhouse Cooper audit in terms of
driving Project Management further into our
    organisation.

5
