• Added to the subject
• Talented Shelley sang.

• The confident president signed.
• Adjectives describe the noun or pronoun. They
  tell which, what kind of, or how many.

Direct Object

• Comes after the verb.
• Answers who or what
• Consider the following sentence
• Students with good study habits make good grades.
• Subject Students
• Verb make
• Direct object make what? Grades or Good grades

Adverbs

• And to the verb
• Talented Shelley sang skillfully.
• The collicky baby cried loudly.
• My Jesus wept. (lets not play around with
  scripture ?)
• The confident president signed quickly.
• NOTE These are called adverbs because they
  describe or modify the verb. They tell how
  something was done, when it was done or to what
  extent it was done. Adverbs often end in ly.

• Describes attributes or qualities or
  characteristics of the subject.
• They are found after a linking verb like is ,

• Choosing a career is often difficult.

• Describes or renames the subject.
• They are found after a linking verb like is ,
  be, becomes, or seems
• Here are some examples
• The moon is a huge star.
• The bag is a trash receptacle.
• Choosing a career is the right of every human
  being.
