  • Added to the subject

  • Adjectives describe the noun or pronoun. They
    tell which, what kind of, or how many.

  • Comes after the verb.
  • Answers who or what
  • Consider the following sentence

Adverbs
  • And to the verb
  • Talented Shelley sang skillfully.
  • The collicky baby cried loudly.
  • My Jesus wept. (lets not play around with
    scripture ?)
  • The confident president signed quickly.
  • NOTE These are called adverbs because they
    describe or modify the verb. They tell how
    something was done, when it was done or to what
    extent it was done. Adverbs often end in ly.

  • Describes or renames the subject.
  • They are found after a linking verb like is ,
    be, becomes, or seems
  • Here are some examples

  • The bag is a trash receptacle.
