Why do we do it?
  • To engage a young audience with news, sport and
    current affairs
  • To make young people into responsible
    broadcasters
  • We are there to inform educate and entertain!

Keeping it safe and legal

  • Make sure you look through it.

Child protection
  • We only use first names for School Report. We
    cant link to your site if the childrens
    surnames have been used
  • We ask the school or centre to take
    responsibility for consents
  • Most BBC staff who come into school are CRB
    checked but we ask that you dont leave them
    alone with children

Make Your Own News
  • You are divided into news departments. Look
    through the newspapers and pick out a story
    which interests you.
  • Try re writing it as a 20 second script for a
    news bulletin. Remember that news is read at
    roughly 3 words a second.
  • Remember Who What Why Where When
  • Choose a newsreader

Now make the news!
  • Check your story
  • Write the script
  • Rehearse your script
  • We will order the bulletin as a group
  • And then read it !!
