ENTERED EMPLOYMENT
  • SUPPLEMENTAL DATA (WIA)

17
ENTERED EMPLOYMENT
  • Employment status at registration is determined
through self-report, not wage records. Ensure
    adults are recorded properly.
  • Not all wages show up in UI wage data. Seek
    supplemental data and document it.
  • Just because a participant gets a job does not
mean he/she should automatically be exited. To
keep them active, continue providing services.
Strategically plan your exits to ensure positive
    outcomes.

18
ENTERED EMPLOYMENT
  • STRATEGIC EXITS

After client gets a job, continue contacting them
up to 90 days prior to making a decision to exit.
This ensure your placement counts positively in
the measures. Documentation required.
19
ENTERED EMPLOYMENT
  • Consider designing an exit checklist for case
managers. What circumstances make for an ideal
    exit?

EMPLOYMENT RETENTION
  • STRATEGIES FOR RETENTION
  • Capacity for post-placement clients on your
    caseload?
  • Always attempt to collect supplemental data.
Dont wait for UI wage data and then plan to go
    after the negatives.
  • Wage data over-rides supplemental data so dont
    hesitate to enter supplemental data.

29
EMPLOYMENT RETENTION
  • STRATEGIES FOR RETENTION
  • Sell the value of post-placement services from
    the beginning.
  • Avoid telling the client theyve been exited.
  • Dont just call for supplemental data. Offer
services related to keeping the job, getting a
promotion, asking for a raise, etc.
