• The DUS test is simplified and will be an

Nordic understanding

• Seeds or plant material of conservation varieties
  must be conserved in NordGen/national programs
  collections publicly available
• Information on seeds or plant material must be
  publicly available from NordGen documentation
  system.

• status as conservation variety

• Landrace or cultivar must have documented
  importance for agricultural/horticultural history
  in the region.
• Preferences will be given to landraces and
  cultivars grown in the region before 1950-60
  and/or material adapted to specific
  eco-geographical conditions (latitude, climate,
  etc).
• Minimum 2 years after withdrawn from national
  lists
• Conservational value approved by NordGen
