23 Stages
- Cumulus stage
- Mature Stage
- Dissipating stage
3 The Cumulus stage is the initial point when the
Cloud is made this is when the condensation
point begins They expand vertically and
laterally. A cloud can reach 5-10 miles in area.
4In the Mature stage the Thunderstorms are the
strongest There is a lot of rain lightning, Hail
and sometimes Tornadoes.
5In the Dissipating stage the humidity and rain
ends.
6There are 4 basic types of Thunderstorms.
7In the Single cell storm they last 20-30
minutes They make downbursts ,hail and heavy
rainfalls and Sometimes weak tornadoes.
In a multicell cluster can produce moderate sized
hail, flash Floods, and weak tornadoes.
8Multicell line consists of well developed gusts
and Flash floods , hail, and tornadoes.
Supercells consists of rotating updrafts, strong
down bursts Large hail and tornadoes.
9Each updraft and downdraft in a thunderstorm is a
separate unit called a convection cell. These
cells are developing and dying if the conditions
are right. A thunderstorm cell can last between
30 to 60 minutes. As one cell is dying, another
could be forming. This increases the life, and
dangerous weather, of a thunderstorm.
