Nam June Paik biography

• June 20, 1932 Born in Seoul, Korea
• 1956 Paik graduated from the University of Tokyo,
  concluding his studies in history of art and the
  history of music.
• 1965 first solo exhibition electronic art in
  the USA first to buy a video recorder.
• 1966-69 first Multi-Monitor installations
• 1988 erects a media tower from 1003 monitors for
  the Olympic Games at Seoul.
• 2006 Nam June Paik passed away at his Miami home
  at 700p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29

• In the 1960s, Nam June Paik embraced the medium
  of television, and became the founding father of
  video art.

• Paik's oeuvre later included television
  sculpture, satellite art, robotic devices, and
  giant video walls with synthesized imagery
  pulsating from stacks of cathode-ray tubes.

  video synthesizer, which can paint screens,
  produce images, and reverse images on a video
  monitor.

• Paik uses walls of as many as 300 television
