  • Nuclear Membrane is visible
  • The cell is not dividing
  • DNA Replicates

Prophase
  • Chromatin condenses into chromosomes, because
    they are replicated chromosomes they are called
    sister chromatids
  • Nucleolus disappears
  • Sister chromatids remain attached at the
    centromere
  • Centrioles move to opposite ends of the cell
    (poles)
  • Nuclear Membrane disappears

Metaphase
  • Sister chromatids line up in the middle of the
    cell (equator)
  • Spindle fibers attach to the centromere and move
