  • Why are we having University Boards at levels 1
    and 2?

EXAMINATION BOARDS
  • Because the University, in the form of Senate, is
    responsible for standards at all levels.
  • Levels 1 2 attract interim awards (Cert HE and
    Dip HE).

EXAMINATION BOARDS
  • Level 1 and 2 Boards comprise a representative
    from each Departmental Board (Head or nominee).
  • External Examiner will attend Level 2 Board.
  • Deadlines for input of marks to the central
    system.
  • Departmental Boards make recommendations on
    progression extenuating circumstances in
    accordance with the Academic Regulations.
  • University Boards make decisions on progression
    extenuating circumstances in accordance with the
    Academic Regulations.

  • Paperwork available to the University BoardMark
    sheets sorted alphabetically as follows120
    credits (passes)90 credits (with failed modules
    at 35 and both not in same Principal
    Subject)105 credits (but failed module below

    35)75 credits and below(in descending order)
  • Results of carried modules
  • Departmental recommendation against each student

  • Paperwork available to the University BoardMark

  • Departmental Board recommendation against each

  • No Joint Departmental Examination Board
  • Opportunity to check marks
  • Formal case needed, endorsed by External
    Examiner, to raise a class. Departmental
    Examination Boards cannot amend marks for this
    purpose.

  • Resits for Honours.
  • Algorithm as published.
