• Due to the current pandemic situation, our
  education system has undergone changes that have
  given a huge lift to online learning both in the
  metros and non-metros. During the early stages of
  the pandemic, when the nature of the coronavirus
  was still unknown, most universities made the
  decision to temporarily avoid all in-person
  contact and close their campuses completely.
  Technology over the years has made way different
  industries and sectors and has brought the
  much-required transitioning process. Online
  education, for instance, online examinations got
  a major boost. Examinations are a critical part
  of the higher education process and a necessary
  step in providing students with accurate grades.

• Online or digital exams can save lecturers ample
  marking time. It also saves students the hassle
  of putting pen to paper to demonstrate their
  knowledge in an area of study. So, the pattern of
  questions has changed from text- to
  application-based, going beyond the only-MCQ
  format and making it essential for students to
  write long-form answers and essential for them.
  Online exams range from MCQs, fill in the blanks,
  checkboxes to short answers, long answers (that
  need to be evaluated by the teacher separately),
  coding simulators, case studies, etc. Online
  examination platforms support a host of knowledge
  and application-based questions, enabling
  examiners to prepare a questionnaire with
  multiple question types.
