What Testing Schedule?

• In the United Kingdom BS 526611999 recommends
  the following testing schedule
• Monthly
• Six Monthly
• Annually after Three Years

How AutoTest ensures compliance?

AutoTest Operation

• LED on All OK
• LED off Battery fault or no mains
• LED flashing Lamp faulty

Lamp Failure

• The most common type of failure in an emergency
  luminaire is likely to be a lamp failure. When
  AutoTest detects a lamp failure it will
• Change the status of the LED to flashing green
• An audible alarm will sound for 3 seconds every
  30 minutes

Battery Failure

• If AutoTest detects that the battery has not
  endured any of its duration tests it will
• Extinguish the LED
• Sound an audible alarm for 3 seconds every 30
  minutes

Reset AutoTest

• Every time a fault has been rectified the
  AutoTest luminaire will need to be reset. This is
  simple procedure which involves switching the
  SWITCHED or UNSWITCHED supplies
• ON for 1 second or until the lamp strikes
• OFF for 1 second
• ON again for 1 second
• The unit will then conduct a brief test to ensure
  that the fault has been cleared

• LED flashes to indicate the next monthly

• After Six months the next test due is month
• Seven
• Seven sequential flashes

Key Issues

• An AutoTest luminaire will always look to test
  during a period of minimum risk
• If the test time for the month has been reached
  and the luminaire is not switched off, the
  circuit will test in any case
• 30 seconds after switching on the LED will flash.
  The number of flashes will indicate the next
  test due

Key Issues

• After resetting a fault a short test is
  immediately initiated to verify correction of the
  fault
• At any time the mains fails the unit will operate
  as a standard emergency circuit
• When commissioning please ensure that batteries
  have been charged for 24 hours before testing
  commences
