Purpose Methods
  • Purpose
  • To review the post-operative outcomes of patients
    undergoing presbyopic lens implantation in one or
    both eyes with the ReZoom, ReSTOR or crystalens
    intraocular lens.

  • Methods
  • A retrospective analysis was performed including
    all Minnesota Eye Consultants patients undergoing
    presbyopic lens placement after cataract surgery
    and/or clear lens extraction between the dates of
    1/1/2004 and 12/31/2006.

Conclusion
  • Presbyopic intraocular lenses offer the
    possibility of functional distance and near
    vision, without the use of glasses in many
    patients.
  • Preoperative counseling is important in setting
    appropriate expectations for the procedure, and
    additional effort in the preoperative and
    postoperative period is important in obtaining a
    good result.
