And just how do we share?
  • This can be direct contact such as touching,
    hugging and sexual contact.
  • This also includes physical activities like
    sports and even fights that cause bleeding !
  • Indirect contact is contact with the germs
    through the air like when we share the flu
    through sneezing, coughing and touching objects
    such as door knobs, telephones even your remote
    control for the TV!
  • Another form of indirect contact is using needles
    that have been used by another person.

  • Germs may be passed when someone sick sneezes or
    coughs near you. You breathe in the germs.
  • Germs are also passed on when people share cups,
    bottles and other personal items like NEEDLES.

  • You can get an infection from the bite of an
    insect or an animal.
  • The germs that cause rabies and West Nile virus
    are spread this way.

  • You can also get infection from eating or
    drinking contaminated food or water.
  • Salmonella, a type of food poisoning, can be
    spread this way.
