Description:

"Health is wealth" was one of the many pearls of wisdom imparted by my old, haggard granny, bent double with age and I basking in the glorious shine of my youth had given it as much importance as a cricket fan in India would give to a hockey match. Well! needless to say my ignorance cost me a great deal and I learnt my lesson the hard way. But it seems to me that there are many out there who have not yet recognized the folly of their ways so today I shall adopt the role of my granny and tell you how and why it is important to take care of your health and the means and ways to achieve the same. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

7 things you should never share

  • Health is wealth" was one of the many pearls of
wisdom imparted by my old, haggard granny, bent
double with age and I basking in the glorious
shine of my youth had given it as much importance
as a cricket fan in India would give to a hockey
match. Well! needless to say my ignorance cost me
a great deal and I learnt my lesson the hard way.
  • But it seems to me that there are many out there
who have not yet recognized the folly of their
ways so today I shall adopt the role of my granny
and tell you how and why it is important to take
care of your health and the means and ways to
    achieve the same.

3
  • It is not easy! The world we live in, in striking
contrast to that of my grannys, is riddled with
technological advances that sure have made our
lives easier but at the same time has it own set
of dangers that for a long time have been
    unappreciated.
  • Have you ever paused and wondered the potential
ramification of sharing your earphone with your
friends? Wow that sounds weird! Some may say. But
think about it. Earphones are plugged deep into
your ears and the after repeated use it becomes
coated with earwax, which is nothing but a
complex deposition of dirt and germs.

4
  • So imagine what happens when you plug in the same
earphones? Now, what if your friend was suffering
from an ear infection? You have inadvertently
transferred it yourself. It is not just
earphones. There are a whole plethora of things
that we share without realizing the potential
    implications.

5
Well! My friend, it is not too late in the day to
mend your ways. Here, is a list of things that
you should never ever share with anyone.
  • Bar of soap- the notion of taking a bath is to
cleanse oneself. You are defeating that idea by
using someone elses already used soap, which is
laden with germs from their body.

Towels- does your towel smell fishy? Well, if the
answer is yes then it is time you buy a new one
for yourself. That towel is reeking with mildew
and fungi. These organisms like to grow on wet
and moist things and by sharing towels you are
also infecting the other person with germs.
6
  • Loofahs- while we are still on the topic of
bathing, it would be pertinent to discuss that
much like towels and soaps, loofahs should also
not be shared as it is a source of germs.

Tooth brushes  please dont ever share your
toothbrush with anyone even if that person is
very dear to you. Actually wait! Especially if
the person is very dear to you. Toothbrushes
caries all kinds of germs and is the breeding
place for organisms. Sometimes while brushing you
may inadvertently hurt your gums and the
resultant bleed on the brush may transfer blood
borne infections.
7
  • Nail clippers- Imagine the amount of dirt beneath
your finger nails and then extrapolate that to
the amount of dirt you leave behind on the nail
clipper after you are done cutting. Now, would
you really want someone else to share that? I
    think the answer is rhetorical.

Deodorants/ Roll-on - Always try to use your own
deodorants and never share it with anyone else.
Your armpits are the storehouse of all kinds of
germs, sweat and dirt. By sharing deodorants you
are just adding another layer of filth to your
self or transmitting it to someone else.
Razors- much of the same logic applies to razors.
It is meant for personal use and should be
changed frequently.
8
  • I guess most of us take the phrase sharing is
    caring a little too literally.
  • While it is good to share, remember not
    everything can be shared.
