  • There are 17 different species of penguin in the
    world.
  • All 17 species live in the southern hemisphere.

Emperor
  • Live on the continent of Antarctica.
  • They are the largest breed of penguin, standing
    3-4 ft. in height.

?Second largest of the penguins.
? They are found on sub - Antarctic islands all
around the Southern Ocean.

Adelie
Are the other penguins (besides Emperors) that
breed only on the Antarctic continent. Because
they live in such a cold climate they are only
kept in captivity in a few places (notably the
Sea World Parks)

Chinstrap
They are particularly noisy penguins and are
sometimes also called Stonecracker penguins
because of their piercing voices. 
Chinstraps are easily distinguished by the thin
black stripe across the bottom of the throat

They live on the Sub-Antarctic Islands.

Live on Antarctic Islands south of Africa and
America and they are kept in many Zoos throughout
the world.
