Points to consider
  • Have you seen any difference since the
    introduction of Gateway?
  • Good examples
  • Bad examples
  • Has there been a move away from requiring action
and instead using best practice or guidance
    examples?
  • What more could we (DH) be doing?
  • To make the Gateway more effective
  • To link to local initiatives

9
Points to consider (cont)
  • What more could be done locally?
  • SHA level
  • Trust level
  • Apart from the DH where do the majority of
    demands come from?
  • How could / should this be alleviated?
  • What is the biggest bureaucratic burden you would
    like to be rid of?

10
How can you help us?
  • Become the eyes and ears of the Gateway
  • Email MB-NHSGateway_at_dh.gsi.gov.uk with details of
any issues / documents dont seem to follow
    Gateway principles
  • Watch out for the NEW Reducing Burdens website

11
Next steps
  • Visiting all the SHAs in England, finishing in
    October
  • That information collected will be used to inform
    future work of the Gateway
  • We will publish the overall findings in a report
    by the end 2005
