Possible CPDLC Flightdeck Procedures

• In case of ATC datalink clearance/approval the
  communicating pilot shall call out the
  significant parts of the ATC message and ensure
  that PF repeats the significant parts of the ATC
  message before sending an ATC datalink response.
  If for some reason only the communicating pilot
  is able to monitor such ATC message a
  confirmation of significant parts of the ATC
  message shall be requested from another pilot as
  soon as the situation allows.

• The flight crew shall revert to voice
  communication in case of data link communication
  failure or in case of ambiguity or contradiction
  between voice and data link information.

Justification for possible Flightdeck procedures

• Complies with ICAO 9694
• Reasonable tradeoff between speed and redundancy
• Minimum disruptions to voice comm procedures
• Mixing CPDLC and voice ATC comm with similar PF-
  PNF task sharing
