Globus 2 alpha4 Testing Status (4 Oct 2001)

• Basic Globus distribution
• Distribution from CVS builds successfully on
  reference platform (RH 6.2, gcc 2.91.66)
• gatekeeper, job mgr (fork), GridFTP configured
  work
• Basic cmd line features (grid search, client
  side etc.) work
• MDS
• Includes GRIS GIIS but not GRAM (Globus team
  are working on this)
• hello world works
• Small bugs found but no show-stoppers
• more testing required next week but
• EVERY REASON TO BELIEVE GLOBUS 2 WORKS

• making compatible with LCFG objects (WP4)

Authorization Issues

• GridMapFile
• needs to be published in MDS to satisfy WP1
• not related to Globus
• site mgrs should be aware of this need before
  participating in TB1
• temporary measure which needs to be revisited for
  TB2 (by WP1)
• Alternatives for authentication
• use Authorization WG sw tools
• received by not yet tested by ITeam
• site mgrs create set of accounts for each
  application WP/experiment
• in preparation, application WP mgs should send
  set of required accounts to WP6 before 22 Oct.
