Abstract

• Students need a variety of areas to study in the
  library. In order to meet these needs, the SWOSU
  Library created areas designed to accommodate all
  students.  We had no extra funds for this project
  so on a minimum budget we rearranged, recycled
  and revised our second floor to be more
  student-learning friendly.

Situation

• A plethora of carrels
• Silence in all areas
• 60s retro furniture

• Group study

Cost

• Library purchased a rug for the social space.

• Furniture

• Chairs
• Couches
• The library surplused carrels to create more
  space.

We Created

• A Silent Study Area
• More cohesive study spaces
• Comfortable seating areas that can be used as
  group study space or social space
