The Name Game

• Students will write a story using Word processing
  to tell how and/or why they got their
• First Name
• Middle Name (if any)
• Family Name
• Nickname

The Name Game example

• First Name My first name is Christie. My parents
  chose that name for me because it was my
  grandmothers name and they wanted to honour her
  memory.
• Middle Name My middle name was chosen by my
  uncle George. He suggested to my mom to call me
  Anna after their older sister who died of cancer
  when they were really young.
• Last Name My family name is Peterson. I come
  from a very big family and so in our little
  community we are very well known and everybody
  calls us the Petersons all the time.
• Nickname My nickname is Chris and I think its
  obvious why. I like my nick a lot. All my family
  members and also my friends at school call my
  Chris. The only people who call me by my real
  name are my teacher and the principal.

My Stories and Memories

• Students will write some stories about
  experiences they have had, things they have seen,
  places they have been, etc. using Word
  processing.
• 1-2 pages

My Stories and Memories example

• I was born on April 27, 1998 in a little town
  close to Quebec City. I have one sister and two
  brothers. Their names are Justin, Tristan and
  Julie. I am the oldest. My moms name is Janet
  and my dads name is Paul. They are the coolest
  parents in the world. We always do things all
  together as a family but also with our cousins.
  We have a lot of cousins.
• One year, my parents took us to Disney World in
  Florida. It was so much fun. I loved it! I want
  to go back. I got to see shows there and also go
  on cool rides. My brother Justin got really
  scared on one because he was so small. I think my
  parents should take us again next year. I wish I
  can go again.

My Timeline

• Students will use a spreadsheet to create their
  timeline.
• The timeline must include at least one special
  event that happened in their life for every year
  since they were born.
• In addition, for every personal event written the
  timeline must include a world history event that
  happened the same year.

My Genealogical Tree

• Students will use Inspiration to create their
  genealogical (family) tree.
• Their genealogical tree must include their
  siblings, their parents and their grandparents
  (both sets).

My LopArt Work

• Creativity is key in this project. Students can
  create as much visual art using LopArt as they
  wish to garnish their work.
• The more art the better!

My Video Montage

• Students will create a video montage, using
  Windows Movie Maker or Apple iMovie, from clips
  they will either get from home or film in class
  or outside of class.
• The video does not have to be very long but
  students must have a finished video as part of
  their completed project.
