• A comma is a pause in the middle of a sentence.

• Commas are used to separate words or groups of
  words so that the meaning is made clear.

For example

Semicolon

• Semicolons Link Sentences

• Semicolons link sentences to make on big
  sentence.
• The two parts of either side of the semicolon
  must be equally important.

Colon

• Colons Divide Sentences

• Colons are used to divide sentences if the second
  half explains the first half.
• You should only use a colon if the first part
  leads on to the second part.
