Background

• Cooke Report, published in 2005 Information on
  Quality and Standards in Higher Education (02/15)
• Requirements placed upon HEIs to
• - keep certain documentation and have this
  available internally and for audit/review
  purposes
• - publish a range of information as evidence of
  academic quality and standards
• Led to launch of http//www.tqi.ac.uk
• QAA audits/reviews check whether the information
  we publish on this site is full and accurate

• HESA data on student entry qualifications
• HESA data on progression and completion
• HESA data on class of qualification (where
  applicable)
• First destination information

We have no control over this published data, but
are allowed to attach a general commentary to it

How this appears on the TQI site

• Information is structured by subject JACS codes,
  not by course
• Identified as undergraduate or postgraduate
• University adds a title for each report
• Users can add subjects and universities to their
  TQI Selections and then use compare function to
  compare universities in terms of their entry
  qualifications, achievement data, National
  Student Survey results, etc.
• Every set of institutional information has a link
  to QAA audit reports

The National Student Survey

• 69 of our students responded to the NSS in 2005
• Final year Foundation Degree, HNC, HND and
  undergraduate degree students only
• For publication, reliability threshold of 30
  responses and response rate of at least 50
• Numbers are rounded to the nearest five
• Average scores given to one decimal point
