• Primary purpose to expedite the transfer of
  innovative practices and procedures across health
  care economies
• Clear recognition that innovation transfer must
  be supported by education and training which must
  itself be fully aligned with innovation
• Not constrained by professional boundaries

  inter-professional teams
• Call for this as a focus for HIEC in the East
  Midlands

• Expertise in developing innovation in education
  as evidenced in the work with the NHSIII
  developing embedding of innovations in service
  improvement in undergraduate curriculum at
  University of Derby and now being taken up by
  Universities of Northampton and Nottingham
• Exemplars of cross sector working e.g. Derby
  Practice Learning partnership

Commissioner provider split for post graduate
medical education

• Post Graduate Medical Education policy issues
  keep separate from HIECs
• Current model for nursing, midwifery and allied
  health professions is split
• Partnerships in HIECs could make this more
  effective and focussed around the innovation
  agenda
