2Getting Started Creating Student Record
- Install the software
- Click New User on Log In dialog box
- New Student dialog box displays

- Complete all fields.
- Non-Web Reporter users If classes are
available, select class. - Web Reporter users Copy and paste the Class
Code (See next slide.) - Click the Print Screen key and save your user
information in a safe place.
4Directions to Copy and PasteClass Code
- Locate the Class Code provided by your
instructor. - Select the Class Code (double-click it or drag
your mouse through it until you have it
selected). - Press CTRL C to copy the Class Code.
- At Class Code of the New Student dialog box,
press CTRL V to paste the Class Code.
5Saving to a Flash Drive
- To save your student record to a flash drive
instead of the hard drive, click the folder icon
and browse to the drive where your flash drive is
located.
6Save Student Information
- Click Print Screen key and save information
entered in the Student Record to a safe location.
- Student information required in order to
- Use Locate on-line student should you ever have
to download your student record to a new
computer during the course. (See next screen.) - Have password displayed.
- Access the Web Reporter to view instructor
comments.
7 Web Reporter Users Student ID
- Once you complete the New Student information,
you will receive a Student ID.
8Web Reporter Student ID and Class Code
- To display within the program, click Options,
then View ID from the Main menu toolbar. Print
and keep this with the information entered in the
student record.
9Forgot Password
- From the Log in dialog box, click Forgot
password. - Security question, answer, and student email
address must match the original information
entered in the student record. - Password will display.
10Skill Analysis
- Your instructor may require you to take the Skill
Analysis timed writing.

- Click Send File from either the Lesson menu or
the Main menu. Student record transfers
automatically. - Documents created in the Word Processor must be
attached click Attach and choose .kos files. - Word 2007 documents will transfer if you are
connected to the Internet as you are working if
you are not working online, click - Attach and attach documents just completed or not
sent.

22Should I Export My Student Record?
- Export transfers your student record from the
hard drive or server to your flash drive
(portable device). - Click Yes if your most recent work is on the
hard drive and you need to transfer your record
to a flash drive (to use at home, for example). - If you are working only from a flash drive,
respond No--do not export your student record.
Your file is already there.

- Export transfers the student record from a hard
drive or server to the students flash drive. - Browse to locate your flash drive.

24Logging in After the First Time
- Select your name from the Log In dialog box.
- If you are using a flash drive, browse to the
flash drive and click on the folder with your
name. - Enter your password.
- Decide whether to import your student record.

25Should I Import my Student Record?
- Import your data file if you want to transfer
your student record from the flash drive to the
hard drive/server. Browse to locate the flash
drive. - If you always work from the flash drive, respond
No to this prompt.
26What If I Must Transfer My Student Record to a
New Computer?
- Locate on-line student This feature enables you
to download your student record from the Web
Reporter to a new computer. - From the Log in dialog box, click Locate on-line
student. - Copy and paste or enter information exactly as it
appears in your student record. Your student
record will be downloaded.
