3What is TREE
- TREE is a tool for promoting local economic
development that emphasizes the central role of
knowledge and skills in modern day employment
growth and thereby also the crucial role of
training as part of an integrated package of
actions to create new economic and employment
opportunities for the poor/disadvantaged
individuals and groups, - TREE is a tool for identifying, designing and
implementing training and post training
assistance programs for (self-) employment and
income generation at the local level - TREE is not a training programme in itself,
rather it suggests a methodology to the design
and organization of a particular type of the
integrated programme directed towards local
economic development and employment promotion
through training intervention as an entry point
and organization of relevant post-training
support.
