2WORK FOR THE DOLEWhat is it ?
- Provide work experience opportunities for
income recipients who are required to undertake a
mutual obligation activity, as well as for
volunteers such as parents who wish to gain work
experience through participation.

- Build relationships with Community Groups
- Develop activity or provide information to
Community Organisation for them to develop - Submit approve (do risk assessment) activity in
EA3000 - From 1 July create diary sessions in EA
- Interview, induct commence participants ASAP.
- Collect enter timesheets weekly
- Immediately contact non attendees (2 attempts)
- Lodge PRs as required (zero hours)
5WORK FOR THE DOLEGUIDELINES
- DEWR provide a comprehensive guide on the secure
site for CWC services. All staff should know
where this is and refer to it on a regular basis.
The guide is an on line document and is regularly
updated by DEWR, these updates have historically
been color coded to indicate when changes were
made.
NOTE Guidelines form part of the contract
6WORK FOR THE DOLETRAINING
- DEWR will have on line training available from
the 5th June - This can be accessed through the secure site
- Each module in the training has a quiz which
reinforces the learning and provides you with an
indication of your understanding of the topic
7WORK FOR THE DOLECOMMUNITY AWARENESS
- You are required to consult with community groups
industry bodies in the ESA about regional
employment issues relevant work experience
opportunities - Promote consult with the community to encourage
potential sponsors - Establish relationships with JNMs other
Employment service providers in order to - - communicate promote activities
- facilitate the servicing of participants by JNMs
on their completion of WftD or CW
Ensure you document these activities as
evidence to provide to DEWR on request

- You must provide services to all participants
referred (resident in ESA) - You can directly register volunteers that do not
have a MO requirement

Any hours above the required hours as stipulated
by DEWR are NOT counted towards utilisation
Volunteer hours count towards utilisation in
milestone but are discarded for the purpose of
allocation of places for the next milestone

- Participants must be placed into an activity that
complements their skills - If the participant is eligible wishes to
receive a Passport to Employment you must - - Assist with obtaining references from sponsors,
Hosts or Volunteer organisations - Provide a WftD completion certificate
- Assist in completing a skills audit on skills
obtained during participation in WftD

- You must have diary sessions available at all
times, within 2 business days of referral - You must have Rapid Reconnect sessions available
at all times - You must interview participants within 5 business
days (wherever possible)

- Your goal is to commence a participant as quickly
as possible - By doing an O H S induction at the time of the
interview you are able to commence the
participant then but only credit the hours taken
to do the induction. - You must inform participants of their requirement
to participate and consequences of failing to
comply

- Participant commencements should be entered into
the system daily, DEWR requires these within 2
days of commencement. - You must keep records of attendance, inc.
timesheets that accurately reflect the actual
attendance of participants.

- A participation report must be lodged within 2
business days. - You must try to contact the participant at least
twice
Participants are entitled to 3 unexplained
absences (per referral)

- You Must
- Issue Sponsor Activity applications to any
potential sponsors (and advise of available WEF
funding) - Assist potential sponsors complete forms
- Accept completed sponsors activity applications
- Assess all applications and approve or reject
- Provide a summary of all applications in EA3000
- Advise potential sponsors within 10 days of
result - If rejected provide written advice to sponsor
with reasons keep a copy on file

- Contract now specifies the Supervisor must have
the technical or trade skills to supervise the
activity, as well as excellent motivational
skills the ability to build rapport with a wide
range of participants - Supervisors may be employed by Sponsor or CWC
18WORK FOR THE DOLEActivities
- Must Not-
- Involve working exclusively on private property
- Require participants to enter private homes or
grounds - Require participants to undertake physical or
hands on personal care - compete with established business
- fulfill a function that is part of a commercial
contract or enterprise - be for a for profit organisation or on a for
profit basis - replace a position that would have otherwise been
filled by a paid worker

- Transition period from 1 July potentially till 31
December - potentially 2 contractors operating during this
period - This will impact on number of referrals and
number of activities for new providers in the
2006 2009 contract - DEWR have already allowed for this with a reduced
flow of only 50 of anticipated places to the new
contract

- Direct Registrations
- These are volunteers who do not have a mutual
obligation requirement and are not activity
tested - eg. Parents with a child under 6 or mature age
participants 50 years over - The CWC should refer these volunteers onto the
JNM on completion of their activity

- DEWR will give you the lesser of twice the
completed places from Period 1 or the formula

- Additional Places increase numbers and therefore
increase income - To receive Additional Places in any milestone you
need to meet two triggers - - At least 75 of Allocated places are completed
places (including any additional places received
during Performance Period)

- DEWR may vary market share based on performance
from commencement of Performance Period 3 onwards
(July 2007) - The first adjustment to your business share is
limited to 10
So if my first adjustment of business share is a
reward or increase in business this will be
limited to 10. This then removes that safety net
so any future increases or decreases are NOT
capped

- Assets
- You need to submit an Asset disposal plan with
all Activity Lodgement forms - You must keep an Asset register for all
activities where the Asset is purchased leased
created or otherwise brought into existence.
Where the value of the Asset is equal to or
greater than 1000.00

- Skills in Demand
- All activities must meet at least 1 skill in
demand as specified on EA3000CWC. These skills
will be refreshed every 6 months and is sourced
from the JNMs within the ESA. - Skills in Demand must occupy at least 20 of the
Activity time

- Training dollars have increased, you are now able
to spend up to 20 of your WEF on training. - Participants will now be able to access 300 of
training credits early (refer to schedule E3) - All WEF must be claimed within 3 months of the
end of activity

- Incident reports need to be completed within 24
hours of event - Special activities now require all supervisors to
have a Police Check - These Police Checks last up to 12 months
