• Each State receives 9 courses from a menu of 37
  each year. Total of 450 courses per year.
• 2-day duration
• Approximately 8,000 students per year
• Students are Volunteer and Career Fire Service
  of all ranks

Train-the-Trainer Programs

• Approximately 4 TtT per year
• 1- or 2- week duration
• Students are Career and Volunteer Instructors
  from State and local fire service training
  systems

Degrees at a Distance Programs

• Annual enrollment of 2,000
• 1,000 baccalaureate students per year
• Annual graduation of about 100

Volunteer Incentive Programs (6 Day on-campus)

• 8-10 Courses
• 6-day duration at Emmitsburg, MD
• Sole focus on issues faced by volunteer depts
• Approximately 700 students per year
• Students are Volunteer fire officers and
  firefighters

  State Fire Training system
• Estimated 50,000 students per year

Enfranchisement

• States are full partners with the USFA/NFA
• They can hire NFA instructors to teach NFA
  courses, issue NFA certificates and register
  their students here.
• 25k grant available to State Fire training
  system to deliver the courses

Endorsement

• State / local systems have needs for courses that
  the USFA/NFA cannot develop because of time or
  resources
• Endorsement is a process by which State developed
  courses can receive NFA endorsement, exchange
  them among themselves and use federal funds to
  deliver
• These courses may be taught with USFA/NFA grant
  funds NFA cert issued.

• For Resident Courses including VIP
• Application period May 1 to June 30. Classes for
  classes held October 1-March 31.
• Application period November 1 to December 31 for
  classes held April 1 September 30
