But, whos right? What is the truth?
7
Basic Truth
  • In life, we all want to want to be valued or
    loved.

8
Biblical Truth
  • You have intrinsic value and you are loved by
    God.

9
Matthew 626-27
  • Look at the birds of the air they do not sow or
reap or store away in barns, and yet your
heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more
valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can
add a single hour to his life?

10
Sad Truth
  • Satan wants to rob us of our value and distract
    us from Gods design.

11
Spiritual Truth
  • When we choose to accept our God given design and
confess our sins, God indwells our soul with his
holy spirit and guarantees our salvation.

12
Greatest Truth
  • If we, Gods children (the church), chose to use
what Gods already given us and work together for
the common good, the power of the church would go
    nuclear.

13
Purpose Driven Churchby Rick Warren
  • The designation active member in most churches
means those who attend regularly and financially
support the church. Not much more is expected.
But God has a far greater expectation for every
Christian. He expects every Christian to use his
or her gifts and talents in ministry. If we can
ever awaken and unleash the massive talent,
resources, creativity, and energy lying dormant
in the typical local church, Christianity will
explode with growth at an unprecedented rate.

Sometimes We, Gods People, Miss Gods Best for
Our Lives. Why? There Are at Least Two
Reasons
  • Sometimes its ignorancethese are the times when
were honestly in the dark. (vs.1)

17
Romans 1013-15
  • For "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord
will be saved. But how can they call on him to
save them unless they believe in him? And how can
they believe in him if they have never heard
about him? And how can they hear about him unless
    someone tells them?
  • And how will anyone go and tell them without
being sent? That is what the Scriptures mean when
they say, "How beautiful are the feet of those
    who bring good news!"

Sometimes We, Gods People, Miss Gods Best for
Our Lives. Why? There Are at Least Two
Reasons
  • Sometimes its ignorancethese are the times when
were honestly in the dark. (vs.1)
  • Sometimes its blatant sin We knowingly buy a
lie and follow false gods (vs.2-3)

19
Acts 2611
  • Many a time I went from one synagogue to another
to have them punished, and I tried to force them
to blaspheme. In my obsession against them, I
even went to foreign cities to persecute them.

20
Question How then can I live so that I
experience Gods best for my life?
21
Question How then can I live so that I
experience Gods best for my life?
  • Seek the giver of all good things, not the gifts
    themselves.

22
James 117
  • Every good thing given and every perfect gift is
from above, coming down from the Father of
lights, with whom there is no variation or
    shifting shadow.

23
Matthew 711
  • If you sinful people know how to give good gifts
to your children, how much more will your
heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask
    him.

24
Question How then can I live so that I
experience Gods best for my life?
  • Seek the giver of all good things, not the gifts
    themselves.
  • Embrace my God-given role and employ it for the
    common good.

25
The Body by Charles Colson
  • Modern Christianity, especially Evangelicals, see
the Christian faith primarily, if not
exclusively, as the gospel of Jesus and me.
Christianity is simply a personal relationship
with Jesus. Accept Christ into your life and you
will be saved. This is true as far as it goes,
but it falls woefully short... Christianity is
much more than a private transaction with Jesus
When we confess Christ, Gods response is to
bring us into His Church we become part of His
called-out people. When we become followers of
Christ, we become members of His church- and our
commitment to the church is indistinguishable
from our commitment to Him... the church is so
dear to our Lord that he purchased it with his
    blood.
