15Overview of the RICS eTendering Workflow (contd.)
RICS eTendering
- Open and evaluate tenderer responses.
- Award or progress the tender.
- Report on the tender.
- Archive the completed tender
- Note PQQ and ITT processes are the same
16Benefits of RICS eTendering
- Speed of production of tender is very often a
lot quicker than a whole day printing and
photocopying documents, as is the case for
traditional tendering. - Value for money - 500 per tender is
substantially cheaper than a junior and
surveyors time copying and checking documents as
well as the additional postage/courier costs. - Easy to use the system does not require the
user to be an expert in computer programmes. It
is easy to use and follow for both Contractors
and buyers. Positive feed back has been received
from Contractors who benefit from a free-phone
helpdesk.
17Benefits of RICS eTendering
- Clear audit trail the system enables the buyer
to post all documents to Contractors on the
portal including tender amendments and
correspondence via the messaging system. Buyers
can see if and when Contractors have accessed the
site and downloaded documents. - Remote access the system provides freedom to
work off site. The only system requirements are
internet access, so the tender can be managed
from anywhere with internet access. - Lack of paper the system removes the need for
large volumes of paperwork which is in line with
many Company environmental policies.
