The hour has come for the Son of Man to be
glorified.

• He whom the Father had consecrated and sent
  into the world, whose food is doing the will of
  him who sent him and finishing his work now
  brings final glory to the Father in a supreme act
  of obedience unto death.

There is a time for everything

• Ecclesiastes 31-7 There is a time for
  everything, and a season for every activity under
  heaven a time to be born and a time to die, a
  time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to
  build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time
  to mourn and a time to dance

To be a follower of Christ

• Whoever serves me must follow me and where I am,
  my servant also will be.
• The man who loves his life will lose it, while
  the man who hates his life in this world will
  keep it for eternal life

Jesus explains the power of the cross and of his
death

• Now is the time for judgment on this world
• Now the prince of this world will be driven out.
• But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will
  draw all men to myself.

The power of the Cross

• For the message of the cross is foolishness to
  those who are perishing, but to us who are being
  saved it is the power of God
